There’s a Morty Smith out there who maybe didn’t get out of that bathroom stall in time, and it would have really messed him up for the rest of his life. He’d have to go to therapy and take medicine for his night terrors. Maybe he would have refused to ever go on an adventure with Rick again. There’s also a Morty who got out and told Rick what went down, and Rick held him by the shoulders and said, "Jesus, kid, I’m sorry I let that ha-happen to you." And Morty stared at the ground, awkward, and replied,"Well, it’s not like you were in there. It’s not your fault or anything." And Rick’s eyes hardened with anger, though not directed at him, and said, "Still. Won’t happen again."
Morty smiles at his own thoughts Jeez, how stupid. If his Rick ever said something like that there would be a much bigger problem, mainly that he was being mind controlled or replaced by a doppelganger or something.
