“I feel exactly the same,” Carlos says, stunned by the relief rushing through him. They didn’t have to say goodbye. Nothing ended.
“It’s almost like we’re soulmates or something,” TK shrugs.
Carlos mirrors him, lifting his shoulders. “Almost.”
TK steps back and takes both of Carlos’ hands in his, inspects his neatly trimmed nails, the half moons above the cuticles. Not a speck of nail polish in sight. Last time Carlos babysat Izzy and Evie, he was returned to TK a new and vastly more pampered and colorful man.
