Summary
When the first people came requesting the head of the fire sages to come down into the outer city of Caldera to help exorcise a rogue spirit that had been causing chaos in the streets, they were sent away and told off for trying to waste the sages time with false claims.
When the people continued to come to them all but begging for help for the ravenous spirit running rampant through the city, the sages finally sent a scribe down into the city to see if there was any truth to the requests.
There hadn't been a spirit sighted in the fire nation in a century. Not since the war began, they would never dare say aloud.
When the scribe came running all the way back up to the High Temple an hour after his descent into the lower city to tell them that there was a grand spirit roaming the capital, they found it harder to doubt the rumors.
When they found Agni, now bound in flesh and going by a new name, all doubt had been laid to rest.
Or: Luffy wakes up on a strange island and is yet again being asked to help save a nation stuck at war. Luffy is used to experiencing that sort of thing. He's not used to the bad guys being the ones that beg him for his help.

Skull kills himself (he gets better) to summon the master of death to help with an impossible battle. The arcobaleno did not know he was actually immortal, are freaking the fuck out, and confused as hell about why he's calling the master of death mummy. MOD!Harriet Potter is upset her son Teddy didn't visit while he was cursed, and disapproves of the people who were mean to her son. None of the arcobaleno were ready for this many revelations in under five minutes.
