“So where are you taking me, then?” Aaron asks, rooting around in his bag for his passport.
Robert’s driving, stretched out and languid even in a car, one hand on his thigh, the other on the steering wheel. “Nobody’s spoiled the surprise this time around?”
There’s a wry twist to Robert’s mouth, but Aaron feels momentarily guilty. He’s still gutted they never got to Vegas, but is sure whatever Robert’s got planned will make up for it. “Mum’s not blabbed, you know that."
Robert brushes a hand through Aaron’s hair. His eyes flick to the road as the cars inch forward a little, but looks back as soon as they’ve crawled to a stop. “Clue: a holiday destination, you love it, I think it’s tacky.”

Summary
The process for coming out of hiding wasn't something Andy had spent much time thinking about. When it had popped into his head over the years, it had ached just to consider it, so he pushed it to the side. There had been talk about staying in contact, but that hadn’t materialised and over time it became another thing Andy just didn’t contemplate. Even though he had had faith in it at first - Robert had been so sure.
He’s nothing if not thorough, his brother, and before Andy left, Robert told him he'd set up a convoluted rabbit hole of forwarding addresses in order to be able to give Andy updates. “Coppers will probably be monitoring anything digital, so we go back to basics. Snail mail.” All Andy had to do was call a regional postal office in Dusseldorf, Germany and add one further address once he got settled. Andy assumed either the system hadn’t worked as well as Robert had hoped, or maybe Robert just hadn’t bothered to send any, because he never received any letters.
That is until 9 years after he’d left the village, when a postal van pulls up to the farm he’s working on and asks for Brian Moore.
Robert never gave up on Andy. Now Andy won't give up on him.

Summary
Robert’s been back in Emmerdale for just over a month, and John has already had enough. His half-brother seems to be trying to make himself small around the village, although not trying nearly hard enough in John’s eyes. Not small enough for Aaron not to notice him in every room, on every street, gaze following him wherever he goes. It makes John’s blood boil, but he’s trying to keep his cool as much as possible, even if that means grinding his teeth so hard his jaw is starting to hurt.
5 times John tries to kill Robert without arousing suspicion (or so he thinks) + 1 time he is super obvious about it
