    Why did God let demons exist? Was he too weak to stop them, did her not care, or was there something else deeper that drove him, some plan that was beyond human comprehension? Annabelle wanted to believe it was the third, God gave his only son to free the world of sin, after all. He loved them. He didn't want to let demons spread their taint and destroy them all. He couldn't.

    So why did it feel like God had seen this town, seen the demon that rested in it, seen all the forces who were trying to stop it, and looked away? Why did God leave them to fight alone?

    Why did God let everything go so wrong?
