“You look really well,” Jesper says then, unable to help himself.
“I know,” Wylan says plainly, with a small shrug. “It’s classic me. Came to college and got pretty.”
Jesper laughs, although he’s not fully sure why. It just feels like such a Wylan response to give, whatever that could mean; a little self-deprecating, and also gesturing to the understanding—the knowledge—that they have of each other. Is it classic Wylan, to do this? Only Jesper would be able to tell. Only they could understand each other like this, even now.

Jesper and Wylan aren’t friends in school, but they certainly aren’t strangers, no matter how much they try to act like it. In university, their lives continue to weave in and out of one another’s, pushing and pulling each other through their insecurities, pasts, and other relationships. When it didn’t, Kaz stopped moving the vial around and spoke up. “What is it?” The tone in his voice was unreadable, like it always was. Wylan took a cautious step forward.
“Not a chemical, so you don’t need to worry about it.” He mentally cursed himself, knowing Kaz would question his defensiveness.

Wylan Hendricks is a singer songwriter, and one of the biggest stars of his generation. He’s also the most secretive star, never having given an interview before. Almost nothing is known about him besides his name, his face, and his music.
After accidentally breaking into Hollywood together on a con gone sideways, Jesper Fahey hosts a moderately successful talk show with his friend/agent/producer Kaz Brekker. Kaz’s talent agency, The Crow Club, has a reputation for only picking the best up and comers, and guaranteeing their success. He also has a reputation for doing things outside of the law, not that anyone has been able to prove anything.
When Wylan needs help breaking out of a (probably illegal) contract with his father, he knows that Kaz is the only one who could go up against Jan Van Eck and win. With the freedom to do what he wants and Kaz as his agent, they decide it’s time for Wylan’s first interview. And what better place to start than the Jesper Fahey Show?
