“I don’t think it’s a cat” Aziraphale interrupted, concern filling his sweet face as he disengaged his arm from Crowley’s and started searching out the sound.
With a sigh Crowley paused, then, seeing how important it was to Aziraphale, he used a slight miracle to enhance his hearing, and walked confidently toward the closest alley.
Behind the dumpster he stopped. Swallowing his surprise. “Found it!” he called softly to Aziraphale.

“Oh!” Aziraphale startles. “Well—such a question. It’s not as though either of us has engaged in so much as fisticuffs in ages, and one does need to keep up practice with these sorts of things.” His fretting dies abruptly when Crowley cuts over him clearly, baldly: “Aziraphale.”
Aziraphale’s mouth clicks shut, and he goes so still that the group is forcibly reminded that ethereal beings don’t technically need to breathe, have a heartbeat, or even metabolize energy to exist. Beside him, Crowley’s stiffened up and his lips pull back from his teeth in a toe-curling wince.

Aziraphale doesn’t say anything for a moment. This is usually the part where he withdraws his arm. Instead, his fingers flutter at Crowley’s waist, a split-second pressure that’s gone as fast as it is light. He doesn’t remove his hand. “Why did you sit up?”
Crowley wasn’t expecting that question. He stutters unintelligibly for a moment, trying to figure out how to ask Was I not supposed to? without, you know, actually saying that.
(Or: Crowley constantly overthinks, and Aziraphale finally puts his foot down.)
