For a long while, he rested, slipping in and out of a shallow sleep. His finned ears flexed when he heard footsteps, and his eyes opened.A male human was making his way toward Yuder. Quickly, he slipped into the tide pool and slid beneath the surface. It wasn’t very deep, allowing him to fully submerge himself by only a few inches. He would still be easily seen, but it was better than remaining above the water.
Yuder didn’t want to hurt a human if he didn’t have to, since they were good for stealing fish from their nets and the ones in this region seemed to avoid attacking him, but he would if needed. Who knew what the human might attempt?
