Summary
Seven years after Meteorfall, Edge has flourished. The city has been at the center of the race for new energy sources and all the progress that brings. But at the same time, it’s drawn back into the same old patterns humans can never seem to leave behind. Eight energy barons have emerged and divided up the city, surrounding themselves with vicious gangs to protect what’s theirs. Reno works for Edge’s mostly powerless security force, struggling to find a place for himself in the world after the Turks are disbanded and move on to their own lives. Lost without the family he’d once found, with only the weight of his sins to sit with him at night.
The tenuous check that the energy barons hold each other in starts to erode in a big way, and Reno finds himself having to work with a reluctant member of Edge’s second most powerful gang, both of them determined to keep the city from descending into hell. Both of them looking for their own versions of redemption. And maybe finding something more for themselves along the way.
