"Azriel mentally eviscerated himself for the entire walk over to Rita's. Even in his mildly inebriated state, he still had enough wherewithal to sustain his self-loathing tendencies. Why had he even gone to the dinner? Why had he allowed himself to look up the moment his shadows whispered that Gwyn had arrived?
