"You saved my life." Jim said, and for a second Leonard had been stupid enough to think he'd been talking to him. Yet when he looked up and saw the adoration with which Jim was staring at Spock he felt his hackles rising. Neither of them noticed, but how were they expected to now that he was an outsider?
"Uhura and I had something to do with it too, you know?" Jim brushed it off for the usual grumpy comment it was and continued talking to Spock as if there had been no interruption. Like Leonard was background noise.
"Thank you."
"You are welcome, Jim."
They didn't even have the decency to spare him a glance.
