Summary

Summary
Hemlock Potter, a powerful witch from another world, transports herself, her godson Teddy, and her house-elf Kreacher to Middle-earth to rescue Maeglin, the elven smith she loves. She finds him tortured and broken in Angband, frees him, and heals him. During their perilous escape through Dimbar, they marry and Maeglin accepts Teddy as his son. After further attacks and a desperate flight, they find temporary sanctuary with Círdan at the Havens of Sirion. Maeglin confesses the full extent of Morgoth's manipulation and his own guilt in Gondolin's fall to Círdan, who offers understanding.
