The pat on the back from the blacksmith, Sam. The full body tackle he’d gotten from Purpled. It made him feel a little better before climbing into the carriage. A reminder that he still had a happy life out here, waiting for him.

Summary
Objectively Tommy knew he shouldn’t have taken the bet, he knew that even if he won there was nothing good that could come of it. Tommy was not objective though and the idea of kicking Dreams ass at cards was, at the time, worth any retribution he may face.
Alternatively: After winning a bet and being betrayed by his crew, Tommy finds himself on a deserted island, which, in itself sucks. Things only get worse when he realises the thing thats been circling the island for days is definitely not a shark

Summary
Another deep breath. His throat started to burn more intensely but he pushed the feeling down. It was stupid that his body wanted to be fed again already, after all, Dream had allowed him an extra meal before he went off to ensure he wouldn’t faint during the mission. It was very considerate of him and Tommy was thankful. He didn’t know if he’d made it through the night otherwise. The stress seemed to gnaw away at his reserves even more than usual. (Not that he’d much of those, anyway – his new body seemed to demand blood all the fucking time. It was disgusting. He really was a monster.)
OR
Tommy’s life hasn’t been that great recently with forcefully being turned into a vampire and being just barely kept alive by the hunters. And it’ll come to a quick end if he doesn’t prove to them that he can be useful. The annual Solstice ball at the Syndicate coven’s manor seems to be his chance to prove his worth: He needs to gather information about vampires there; information that can help the hunters bring them down. Easy, right?
