Summary
Beyond the world that we know and yet occupying it at the same time are the Realms. Each of them is part of the world and each is ruled by one creature. They may as well be divine, for all that they are not. but then divinity is just a point of view, isn't it? In any case, many legends, tales and mysterys are told about the realms, some are common knowledge some passed down fairy tales and some a lived experience or merrily the ramblings of those gone mad.

"Weren't they keeping pets, too?" asked Arcee, the cold sneer that accompanied those words basically audible. "Pathetic. I don't know what anyone could ever find in these squishies. It's a shame we're stuck here with them."

Bumblebee has always felt out of place with the Autobots.
Unusually clumsy for a minibot with a grounded alt mode. An intense fixation on speed that not even the fastest bots have. And an irrational fear of heights. As usual, Bee finds himself in a spot of trouble – and Megatron is the only one closest to him.

Summary
So the base was becoming more welcoming to the smaller squishy people on the team, and Fowler was starting to pay more attention to the world at large than just what was required of him.
Meaning he knew when winter break was coming up for the kids.
Roughly, at least.
And looking back years later, Fowler could say that moment was the true start of it all.
