Summary
While searching for changelings and trying to expose Mr. Strickler as one, Jim learns an important lesson:

firehorseshoes - it never ends well.After a foolish plan involving the defacement of a Gaggletack, Jim discovers that he is a changeling. Part changeling, to be specific.
Jim now has to learn how to utilize his new troll form, all while dealing with the ramifications should his friends or enemies discover his secret.In which Jim learns he is not actually the first human Trollhunter, Barbara Lake knows her son, and emotions are still complicated, human and trollish.

These are alternate or deleted scenes for my Trollhunters fic Change is Inevitable (But Not This Kind of Change!).

I removed or changed these scenes because I realized that while I really loved some of them, they didn't fit the tone of my story or the current states of the characters in it.

(Work title from the song Something Wild by Lindsey Stirling because it reminds me of everyone’s favorite thalassophobia sphere!)
Bart wasn’t alone.
He’d suspected it for months. He’d seen the giant ship when he’d surfaced after the huge earthquake a while ago, though it didn’t seem like there were any survivors at first. But then he saw things that were strange, out of place. It was inconspicuous at first. Wounds on some creatures that couldn’t have been made naturally, wounds that looked like they were made by a knife. Things like Stalker teeth or limestone outcrops disappearing from the location he’d seen them mere days before. At first he’d thought it was the last of his sanity slipping away.
