Sakura and Sasuke both turned to look at him like he was clinically insane.
God, these kids were already trying to drive them insane.
“No,” Obito said and didn’t bother elaborating.
“Okay, but what if I want to wear an eyepatch?” Naruto posed instead.
“Then I’m afraid you’ll just have to wait until you lose an eye like the rest of us,” Kakashi said lightly, smiling.

“I thought you were dead,” he said blankly. He might’ve been going into shock.
Obito winced and rubbed the back of his head with a sheepish grin. “Yeah,” he said, tone stilted. “There’s actually quite the story behind that.”
“I should hope so,” was Kakashi’s bland response.

When Kakashi dies, the last thing he expects is a chance to start all over from the day of Sakumo's death. What would happen if, say, he intervened at the key point that turned a loyal Shinobi into a traitor? What if he gave the man a new purpose, and Minato a reliable mentor? Well, who knows, maybe he'll come out of it one eye and a whole team richer.
