When Subaru dies, he doesn't return to his own body.
Return by Death was supposed to give him another chance. Instead, every time Subaru dies, his soul is hurled through time—latching onto a random body. Almost anybody is fair game.
He keeps the memories and the trauma. But his body? Gone.

As of now, she was only still a baby, but soon enough, she would grow with the passage of time. With Ai’s divine genetics, it was impossible that she wouldn’t look at least half-decent, but the thought of growing only formed a pit in Aqua’s stomach, her heart sinking like a rock in a lake.

Across the Watergate City of Priestella, a cruel voice echoed from the central control tower, introducing itself as the Sin Archbishop of Lust. It carried the demands of the Witch Cult, issuing three separate ultimatums:
The first, from Gluttony: surrender one of the Artificial Spirits within the city immediately.
The second, from Wrath: hand over the Book of Wisdom that had been brought into the city.
And the third and final demand, from Greed, plain and simple: “I wish to hold a wedding with my raven-haired bride, so do not interfere with anything regarding the occasion.”

Natsuki Subaru: The name of an artificial spirit created long before the sealing of the Witch of Envy.
Due to several complications, the spirit has had a life that could only be described as tiresome.
During one of his many travels, an unfortunate encounter gets the spirit involved in several affairs that had nothing to do with it in the first place.
This is the story of how the artificial spirit, Subaru, ended up supporting the silver haired half-elf in claiming the throne.
