The plot is inspired by a french song from 1979 about a woman being lonely and falling in love with a gay man, there's an english version but I feel like the lyrics don't hit the same (it's called "Ziggy" if you want to look it up), it's originally from a musical and yes I'm a theater kid who loves to make anything about Rejanis :)
Since this story is about two lesbians, you may also think that it could be inspired by Good Luck Babe (not my intention, but I love Chappell) -
