    Shouto watches as Midoriya floats back up the high platform, taking a step back as he lands next to the bucket of green slime. Shouto tries his hardest not to stare at his arms, his rippling back muscles, as he bends down to stick his arms in the bucket again. It takes him extra effort to control the blush rising up to his already warm cheeks when Midoriya grins up at him through his tousled hair as he swishes his hands around.

    “This is fun!”

    A little photoshoot and an unfortunate circumstance is all it takes for these two finally confess.

    “I can stand,” Izuku insists, coughing a little. His throat feels dry, and the steam can only dampen the air he’s breathing, not soothe the thirst. “I can do it.”

    Ochako’s tone doesn’t leave anything up for discussion. “I didn’t ask if you could do it. We all know you could do anything if you really wanted to. We know you’re strong, Deku, you don’t have to show us.”

    Izuku laughs, feeling hollow. “I’m not strong.” Shouto tenses slightly at his side, but before he can say anything, Izuku closes his eyes and shakes his head. “Please,” he says. He’s not sure if it comes out as a request or a plea. “Don’t tell me how strong I am.”

    Or, the hero's shoulders, the human condition, a shower stall, and home.
