Xó clicked her tongue, “You two are acting like younglings.” Turning to her both Alaya and Poe started to talk before being cut off by her pressing a blue finger to each of their lips. “If you’re done measuring dicks, we could all get something out of this.”

Poe and Alaya probably would never have met if not for the oncoming war, and neither one of them is sure whether that's a good thing or not. But now they're in this mess together, and there's no one else they'd rather be in it with.

"The thing you eat with. Like a fork or a knife but for soup," Clara says, and she's making the motion as if she's eating cereal while she's speaking, as if using the muscles will help her remember if she ever knew it.
"A spoon?" Deacon says it almost as more of a question, like he's unsure if that's the answer or not.
Clara snaps her fingers and grins widely. "Yes! Spoon!"
