Summary
Pirate AU:

After parleying a deal for her life, Clarke’s lack of sailing experience starts off as a mere nuisance, but Lexa quickly learns that it’s not strength or skill with a weapon that makes Clarke so dangerous. It’s the captivating way Clarke gets beneath her skin and completely disarms her that has the world’s most skilled sailor treading water.

One announcement can change a person’s whole life, some for the better some for worse.
When they were sixteen and Clarke told Lexa she was pregnant with her child was one of those announcements.
When they were nineteen and Clarke told Lexa she was going to try out on a talent show was another one.
But it’s the announcement Clarke receives when she is fast approaching her twenty seventh birthday that really changes Clarke’s world and makes her re-evaluate her life.
