“You never cease to surprise me Giyuu,” she mused, trailing her fingers down his arm and into his open palm. “Sometimes I think I have you figured out, but then I turn a page and there is more. Was everything always there underneath this inscrutable face of yours?” she asked, placing her hand on his cheek.
He turned to kiss her palm, exhaling warm breath, taking a moment to think about it.
“No,” he said, the word caught in her hand, before he turned to her with a searching look. “And yes. I built up walls trying to control my grief and my guilt. After a while, I just couldn’t access pieces of myself.”
“Hmm,” she murmured, smoothing his hair away from his face. “What brought down your walls?”
He leaned slightly into her touch but looked away over her shoulder before he answered.
“Tanjirou. And Nezuko. When I found them in the forest on the day she was turned into a demon. They were the beginning.”Series

Summary
Falin is staring again, this time with half-lidded eyes and a book slipping out of her hands. Out of the corner of her eye, Marcille stares back, though mostly at the book that steadily tips and starts to dangle from Falin’s light grip.
Marcille’s cheeks flush on their own accord, and she glares down at her own book to chase the childish thought from her mind.
“Marcille,” Falin chirps softly.
Marcille freezes in place, caught red-handed. “Hmm?”
“Are you ok?” Falin’s head tips to the side, and she blinks slowly. Her eyes are still half-lidded.
Bedroom eyes, Marcille’s brain says.
“Yeah!” Marcille’s mouth says a little too loudly. She nervously smiles over her book. “Why wouldn’t I be?”
OR: Falin is staring—she has been since they returned to the surface. Marcille finds she... doesn't really mind. Not when it's Falin. And certainly not when Falin is looking at her like that.
