There was one huge, unofficial rule about gardening: if the flower marks appeared, it meant whatever you were feeling was already there. Of course, it could always be tinted with denial, or totally unconscious, you name it - so whoever made Ichigo feel proud, protective, lucky, and in love was already in his life.

There's something in here with him.
Grimmjow can't feel it - whatever the thing is, it's capable of hiding very well or it's too much for him to sense - but he keeps catching glimpses of something out of the corner of his eye. The barest flicker of a tail, the scratch of a claw. Once, the curve of what had to be a horn of some sort, disconcertingly far from the ground.
There is never anything there when he turns his flashlight to look.
