    The mark was a lie. It was also a warning, because his father wouldn’t be where he was if it wasn’t for it. Perhaps, in a dream, his father wouldn’t have the mark and would be someone else.

    There was no use thinking about that. The past was fucked and the present was a garbage pile. The future was the only place he could be something else. One day, in that dream, he would get out of this shithole with his shitty ball, earn lots of money, and eat delicious food. He squeezed the stupid ball that endured his moods, and resolved that he would become human. Somehow, he would become something that could be loved.
