Sometimes.. sometimes, Stanley skips out on his babysitting duties. There's nothing wrong with letting you watch TV after school, as long as Ma and Pa weren't home and your homework was done by dinner. Sometimes he just wants to spend alone time with his brother.
“Pumpkin..we weren't fightin’..”
“Yeah, I know.” You huff, puffing up your chest to express your big grown up feelings. “You guys were smooching up a storm!”

It’s then that Palette really gets to see what Nightmare looks like. Feels the slime covering every inch of bone, oily and dark, the one eye socket forever covered, the other a striking cyan glowing starkly in the darkness.
“Don’t tell me...”
Palette swallows hard, the weight of his dad’s warnings pressing down on him again. Never tell. Never let him know. His dad’s voice in his head is loud, desperate. Nightmare couldn’t know who he really was. It wasn’t safe. For him. For his dad. For anyone.
But Nightmare’s grin returned, wide and gleeful. “Dream had a child?”

Viktor hums, “What brought this on, Jayce?”
A stray hand plays with the locks of his hair, and he can’t help but find how adorable Jayce’s little head tilt is. The boy gives him that look, the one where his brows are so exaggerated and his lips purse like he’s trying to solve a grand mystery.
His hand, small and gentle, works through the strands of his hair like it holds the answer to his problem. It doesn’t, of course.
“I’m trying to figure out how to kiss you.” He bluntly answers, as if asked why the sky is blue. No hesitation lingers in his voice, just the genuine curiosity for what he doesn’t understand.

Summary

"Get these off of me," Nightmare spat, his voice a mixture of rage and desperation. Bound tightly, he thrashed and twisted, trying to free himself from the unforgiving chains and cuffs. His struggles were futile, only serving to highlight his helplessness.
Sol watched, a dark smile playing on his mouth. There was something undeniably captivating about seeing Nightmare like this, all his power stripped away, leaving only raw vulnerability. Sol could lose himself in this sight for days.
But he knew that was cruel. An attentive lover should show mercy, shouldn't he?
He drifted closer, his gaze locked on the bright gold cuffs that gleamed against Nightmare's obsidian corruption. Like a predator closing in on its captured prey, he moved with deliberate slowness, savouring every second. "I couldn't possibly," he purred, his voice low and tantalizing. "You'll leave if I release you, Darling."
Caught, Nightmare has to accept Sol's tender mercies.

Summary
The tenderness displayed by his brother felt... unprecedented. Usually, Dream's touch was rough, his handling harsh and desperate, leaving bruises and burns as marks of his desire for Nightmare to stay. Now, it was a stark contrast—a soft caress, a firm but not suffocating grip that carried a comforting weight.
Anticipating some delayed burst of horror and panic, Nightmare found none. Instead, his attention fixated on the sweltering burn within his bones and the places where Dream's touch lingered. His summoned ecto ached, stubbornly refusing to dissipate.
Whining, he struggled to articulate his discomfort, uncertain of how to alleviate it. Dream swiftly hushed him, murmuring sweet nothings to soothe his distress. "It's alright. I'm here to take care of you. I'm here, I'm here—" The revelation came in fragments, as Dream continued, "You're so heatsick, you poor thing. You've been staving this off for a long time, haven't you?" Pity dripped from his voice, but an unmistakable satisfaction lingered beneath the surface.
