Summary
Many people (well everyone besides Velette) believed Vox was a workaholic. This wasn’t true. The TV demon was indeed a diligent worker but he wasn’t an idiot. If he could get someone else to do it he would. This is what made him a successful overlord. However, these privileges were somewhat hollow when he had no one to spend his money on. He missed being a breadwinner. He missed coming home to a clean house and being greeted by a freshly poured martini.
Maybe the overlord was pushing his luck by asking specifically for Alastor to fill this need. In a way it was out of the boundaries of their initial agreement.

"I love that you have so much beef with Alastor, finally someone feels the same about him, as I do. The only thing stopping me from killing that radio demon is that my daughter would be furious, but what if she didn't know? I suppose a temporary truce can be formed between you and i."
Vox grinned,
“And in the meantime... What should I do?”Lucifer smirked.
"You can go and mingle, hang out with the residents of the hotel. Lets shake on it though, make a deal with me, Vox.”
His wings flared again and Vox felt a little excited by that. Demons always got a rush of power and adrenaline that sweet simply great whenever they were faced with the possibility of a deal.
Lucifer was getting excited at the thought of what things would happen when he got Vox in a room alone again too.
He held out his hand and they shook it, Lucifer grinned as he felt the room envelop into that addictive warmth.
Their fascination with each other was obvious.

Or Alastor and Vox “sext” each other through Morse Code. Alastor starts off right in the hotel parlor in front of Charlie and Angel Dust because to them, it just sounds like beeping. He even translates some for curious Charlie, playing it off as innocent banter. Vox however has a very special way of doing it on his end …
