    Summary

Colin and Penelope both know what it means to be misunderstood, to feel unseen by the people who are meant to love them unconditionally. From the very beginning, though, they see each other and forge a bond that becomes a testament to finding comfort and safety in love and in the family we choose, not just the one we're born into.

    Summary

Being trapped in an elevator wasn’t on Penelope Featherington’s agenda for the Chicago Marketing Summit, nor was having a heart-to-heart with Colin Bridgerton—the marketing golden boy she’s silently followed and admired. Yet, after one hour of unexpected closeness, they step out with plans for a dinner that’s less about networking and more about the sparks that flew when the elevator stopped. As they navigate their new bond in the vast world outside the elevator, the question remains: can their connection survive in the real world, or was it just a perfect moment suspended in time?

Top-five Polin Fics for sure. Very thoughtful, creative and lovely story. Really enjoyed the addition of various book quotes and history notes the author left. I wanted the story to keep going. What a lovely world she created with her words

“Penelope Anne Featherington,” he says, turning to her with hands on his hips, expression gleeful. “Did you break the bed?”
She does her best impression of a dog who’s ripped all the down from a pillow. He can’t prove anything.
    “I did,” she says.
Damn. There’s always been a disconnect between her mouth and her brain.

Penelope's bed breaks. Of course it's Colin who finds her.

    Summary

He’d been enjoying his time in Thailand but home, with its graveyard of brownery and Penelope (Penelope), inspired Colin to cut his trip short by a week. Besides, he had to know if Lady Whistledown, the lady palm proven impossible to kill, had finally received comeuppance for her addiction to talking shit.

    Mostly, though, he was resolved.

Colin didn’t want to dance around this anymore. He ascribed to Harry Burns’ school of thought on romance and every moment spent trying to feign indifference felt like a waste. He was going home, and he was going to make her witness what she did to him. No more pretending.

    or

Penelope asks Colin to take her nudes.
