Summary
Her heart is hammering in her chest and rattling against her breast bone. She can feel it pumping blood throughout her body, beginning from the bottom of her toes and trailing all the way up to the top of her head. A thumping noise reverberates between her ears as her heart rate increases. Her hands are slick with sweat and they feel clammy. Normally, she would be twisting them about, picking at her nails in nervousness. It’s his unrelenting hold on her hands that prevents her from doing so. His touch grounds her to the moment—keeping her mind from wandering—and she doesn’t know whether to be thankful for that or not.
Or, it's Chloe's wedding day and she's having second thoughts. Is it too late to back out?
