    Summary

“Everyone’s from somewhere,” Ciri says. “I’m from Cintra, even though no one can know it, and Geralt’s from Rivia, and Yennefer’s from Vengerberg. So where are you from?”

“Nowhere,” Jaskier says, and his tone has just enough of a snap to it, an edge she’s not heard before, that she decides to leave it be.

It turns out that where Jaskier’s from, they’re not that happy to see him. Until they realise he could be worth something...

    Summary

Jaskier heard tales that the Path of a witcher is solitary, and Geralt does nothing to discourage them. He is obviously unused to companionship. His body is geometric with tension: his shoulders held in a rigid line, his jaw clenched at a harsh angle. He hasn’t yet doffed a single scrap of his armor, even though it’s well past dark and the bedrolls have been unpacked. Jaskier’s bodice is discarded, her blouse loose and untucked over her breeches. The plunging neckline hasn’t caught Geralt’s eye once—and she’s been paying attention, unsure if she’s driven by curiosity or hope.

He’s almost finished with the pheasant, sucking at the marrow, a sheen of grease over his lips and chin.

Well, maybe, she thinks. I’ve fucked worse.

Julia Pankratz de Lettenhove meets a witcher. The witcher is hiding something.

(Or: Geralt and Jaskier, but lesbians.)

    Summary

Geralt unties Roach from the post, and is about to leave when there’s the sound of an altercation behind him. He turns to see two guards dragging a third man between them. The man is wearing brightly coloured clothes and struggling, not seriously, more like he’s aware that in such circumstances struggling is expected. The guards approach Geralt and drop their charge to his knees in front of him.

“Ow,” the prisoner says. Geralt recognises the bard from the tavern: a little more dishevelled, his face not improved by two black eyes and a split lip.

“This one claims he’s a friend of yours,” one of the guards says. “Caught him sniffing around the treasury but he says he knows you. Says you’ll vouch for him.”

Geralt looks down at the bard, who winks at him, then winces.

How the witcher got his bard; or, the history of a relationship in ten rescues.

    Summary

“Are you happy Geralt?” Jaskier whispered to the otherwise empty dungeon. He pulled his knees against his chest and wrapped his bound arms around them for warmth. He knew the Witcher couldn’t hear the sorrow in his voice and for that he was endlessly thankful. The last thing Geralt needed to distract him from the Path were Jaskier’s all-consuming feelings for him. “Are you happy now that I’m gone and you have some peace?”

Jaskier is kidnapped by a foolish noble who wants to exchange his safety for a free monster hunt from Geralt. Geralt, of course, comes to the aid of his favorite bard (and makes a few important realizations along the way).

    Summary

Jaskier called him my friend, which Geralt thought he had probably said before, but it didn't sound like a hollow turn of phrase today. It sounded like Jaskier might actually mean that literally.

That couldn't be right, but Geralt wasn't about to ask Jaskier whether he meant any of that.
