Because of course the day he transitioned, he happened to discover that his mate was none other than the girl he had obsessively bullied for the last six years.
Honestly, what screams “soulmates” better than personally tormenting someone since they were eleven?
Now, if Draco Malfoy was a good Veela, he would do what was best for her. Maybe let her go. Let her move on and not tie her to the man who had made it his personal mission to make her life absolute hell. But, luckily for Draco, he wasn't a good Veela. Actually, he was a pretty bad fucking Veela, and as far as he was concerned, being with him was exactly what was best for her. So, he’s not going to let her go. Hermione smelled him before she saw him. Even through the fumes of coal and soot and oil, scents that were so unique to Platform 9 3/4, she sensed it. The smell of fresh grass, something woodsy, a minty note. Merlin.
She ruffled her hand through her son’s platinum blonde curls and took a deep breath. So what if he was here? So what if he showed up now, today of all days? She didn’t care. Not one single Knut from his overflowing vaults. She straightened her shoulders, tilted her head back a little.Hermione is divorced. Hurt. And barely hanging on. When her ex-husband tries to ferret (or maybe slyther?) his way back into her life by inviting her for a coffee after dropping their kids at the Hogwarts Express, she refuses. But - what damage can one single cup of coffee do?
When the conversation over that one cup of coffee continues over lunch, and then dinner, she is no longer so sure he is not back exactly where he belongs.
