Summary
In his twenty-seven years, Iruka has learned many useful things: how to know when you're being cheated, what alleys not to use as shortcuts, and which shopkeepers wouldn't take your hand if you lifted their goods. He’s also learned that the world hates orphans, and luck favors the wealthy. Besieged by debts and having nowhere else to turn, Iruka enters a tournament where common folk can earn the chance to marry into a noble family. He didn't expect a one-night-stand with a noble to turn into something more, nor did he expect to do well in the tournament.
Now, an entirely different problem presents itself: Iruka doesn't want to marry Prince Kakashi; he wants to marry his noble-born lover, Sukea.

Summary
Being able to hear when your soulmate talks was supposed to be the most straightforward way of being able to find them. But in Irukas case, finding his soulmate is made impossible because his soulmate apparently never shuts up and has a terrible mumble to boot. Still, the hum of his persons voice has nestled itself quite comfortably in his head - and he wouldn't want it any other way.

Kakashi collapses of chakra exhaustion just outside the village and instructs the kids to bring him to an address that Naruto vaguely recognizes.
The three genin are very surprised to find that their teacher has asked to be brought to the apartment of their former instructor, the chunin Umino Iruka. They are even more surprised to find that Iruka himself is actually not surprised at all.
