Yue doesn't want the future that Clow has bequeathed him. He has no intention of letting anyone pass Final Judgment, ever. Unfortunately (fortunately) for him, Clow already accounted for that and planned accordingly.
As much as Yue intends to winter in grief forever, he can't quite resist the warmth of the spring blossoming in the people around him.
(Follows Yue's emotional arc from Final Judgment through the end of the Sakura Card arc. Uses anime as canon. Not necessarily manga-compliant, it's been too long since I read it. Basically Clear Card-compliant except for the part where the writers forgot what they wrote in the original anime over the twenty-year gap)
