In a world where Alpha, Beta and Omega were read as your status, what you were born with, anomalies, such as in Jim's case, wasn't unheard of, though, rare. Really, really, rare.
Jim always wanted to know who he was, what he classified as in a world where he felt, more alienated than any species ever discovered... Here, you had to belong to, something. And he didn't. Couldn't. Because everything was tried to awaken dormant genes inside of him and nothing worked.
He wasn't just now famous for being Starfleet's golden boy; no, he was more famous for being an anomaly. And life did not seem to be kind to him. Nobody it seemed, were able to help him. So he learned to be this, whatever he was.And for Spock, Jim Kirk, his captain, his friend, was the biggest equation he'd ever have to piece together to figure out. Not only was he the very definition of human recklessness, death-defying daredevil, and all sorts of things one can think of when it comes to his captain, but there was one thing Spock could not deny... Jim was an unpredictable fragment in his life he always found himself being surprised by. Jim always kept him on his toes. And there is something he has been working on in secret...

Summary
What happened, something only taken from Jim's most cruelest of nightmares, has come to life before his eyes. And all he could do is watch it unfold. The aftermath, is not one he wakes from, but it is a constant, a reality devoid of the one thing that kept him grounded in this universe. One where Spock was gone, forever, ripped from him in a matter of seconds.
And Jim ends up becoming a lesser version of himself in the wake of the aftermath of losing Spock, his friend, confidant and...how he was in love with his first officer all along, something he realized too late...
The grief leaves him, broken in a way nothing else could ever fix.

On a mission to a new planet, the crew of the USS ENTERPRISE has no idea what is in store for them. Jim most likely is excited, since this will be the fourth alien planet they would come across in two months. The rest of the crew though, was watching him and Spock with hawk eyes everyday since everyone knows, the Vulcan is to leave at the end of the year for New Vulcan. Something which has come as a shock to most but not to many as the destruction of Vulcan was a memory that served as a painful nightmare and were still fresh in so many's minds, despite it being years later. And all Jim was trying to do, was create as much memories with his best friend as possible before he leaves... until, of course, the mission goes wrong and Spock gets split in two! That is when, the fun begins, in a whole roller coaster of emotions, drama, unconventional things and such for everyone.
