Thousands of miles away, Taishen Fireblossom, a simple tea shop owner, knows nothing of the truest evils in the world. He knows only happiness through taking care of his beloved niece and providing words of solace and comfort to all who need it.
One day, as the sun begins to rise and peek above the mountains surrounding the Jade Shell Village, Taishen prepares to greet the day, but something catches his gaze. Clouds encroach over the horizon, threatening to swallow the sun’s golden rays.
A winter storm approaches, and it brings the end of Taishen’s peaceful world as he knows it.

Kremy, expecting a quiet trip before his wedding and maybe a few spots of sightseeing, is now stuck on a dusty ranch with no idea how to survive farm life. The heat, the dirt, the endless cows—it’s not exactly his scene. And, of course, the locals are not thrilled about a gatorfolk hanging around.
