Danny can see ghosts. Plain as day, right in front him. He’s always been able to see them - it’s his gift. But if you ask him, it feels more like a curse.
When Rachel moved to Hawaii and Danny followed, he decided to hide his gift. If people or ghosts knew about it, they’d take advantage, they’d use him. And he was sick of that. So instead, he gave up being a cop and bought a bookstore where he could spend more time alone and fewer dead people bothered him.
When he’s visited by the ghost of a brutally murdered man, he puts in an anonymous tip about his killers but unbeknownst to Danny, Five-0 has immunity and means, and the head of the task force, Steve McGarrett, isn’t above hunting down someone to make them less anonymous.
