He sits up more, facing Askeladd with a sorry excuse for his usual glower — a furrow between his brow but a flush high on his cheeks, scowling but with kiss-bitten lips parted just so. With such a look on his face, his messy hair pointing every which way looks less like ‘feral brat’ and more like ‘debauched.’
“So cute,” Askeladd murmurs, barely audible, before capturing those lips in his own.

Thorkell is once again reminded of his too-tight linens. Thors’ scent is captivating, and coupled with his words, that he would be willing if Thorkell was – it’s a deadly trap. Thorkell had never had his instincts played with in such a way. The urge to devour is heating the blood in his veins and making his skin crawl with anticipation.
He’s not one to lose his mind over some omega at the wrong place at the wrong time, but Thors was strong, and above all, Thorkell is attracted to strength. Maybe it was fate that Thors was born an omega and Thorkell an alpha, and the omega was made to be stronger than the alpha. Just to make sure Thorkell didn’t forget his place among men.

At this point, getting turned down by Bjorn must be some kind of rite of passage.

Summary
Even before his shadow moved across the grass in a misshapen likeness, silent and careful as a cat’s, Bjorn was certain that he would follow.
But he lingers for a while outside the door, motionless, scarcely breathing. Doesn’t knock. Bjorn thinks about the stories of gods visiting in disguise to try and keep the presence he knows is there, waiting, from irritating him too much. Wonders what’s keeping him, if he still had to decide or just couldn’t stop hesitating. He sets a brick of peat down in the hungry flames and it burns the smell of moss and soil into the air, and maybe it’s the light and heat that finally draws him in.
He doubts Thorfinn even pauses to consider why he chose a place without a lock.
