Oliver had nodded, exclaiming about Charles’ restored bat – already thinking of protecting his mum – his clothes, his “coolness” and when Charles had reassured him that he would come to check in often, Oliver had looked at him as if Charles had said something really idiotic. “No, you need to go protect your boyfriend, dummy. I’ll get my own!”
He had gaped uselessly at Oliver, who was clearly trying to send him packing by giving him a second death. “My boyfriend?”
“Yeah! Edwin!” Oliver said, pointing over to where Edwin was talking to Oliver's dad, both their forms slightly translucent in the blinding sunlight. “He’s also cool."
“You think he’s my-” He swallowed the grin threatening to break out across his face, something like fireworks exploding in his veins. “You think we’re dating?"

Charles doesn't mind that their clients keep mistaking Edwin and him as a couple, at least, not until Edwin finds out.

Summary
Charles was in front of Edwin before he could move away, the bat swinging to meet the bottle. But, instead of diverting it, the glass shattered, spilling its contents all over Charles, drenching him in magic that Edwin recognised.
“Close your eyes!” he yelled to no avail, because Charles spun around, eyes wide open, looking over Edwin frantically.

There's no condescension or pity, just a simple raised brow and an outstretched arm, palm up. Matched with the sharp cheekbones, full lips quirked up in a half smile, styled hair that looks ridiculously soft, and warm, inviting eyes, well...
Nobody ever said Charles was strong enough to resist temptation.
