"That I've gone and bagged Roy Kent?" Jamie stares at her like she's mad. "I want that on the first line of me Wikipedia page."
"I don't fucking care if they think we're fucking married with fucking kids and a fucking shih tzu as long as you tell them it's fucking consensual," Roy grumbles. "Taking advantage, Jesus shitfucking Christ."
"Well." Rebecca sits down at her desk. "I really should set up a meeting with the PR team to talk some sense into you, but frankly I find this far too entertaining to stand in your way. They're waiting in the press room, go on down and tell them whatever you like." She picks up her phone. "Higgins? Bring me popcorn immediately."

Jamie flinched, a small jerky movement backwards that made Roy worry for his mug. He focused on that instead of the rest of the worry he was feeling.
“Sorry. I’m not known for being tactful,” Roy gritted out, body tense with a now disgustingly familiar need to fix the situation. Fucking Ted Lasso.
“You can be when you want to be.”
what else is roy to do except organize a mass coming out in order to protect his favorite boy??

The message from TheStranger came through on a quiet night when his inbox wasn’t already full of notifications. Maybe that was why he looked. Or maybe it was because he recognized the reference–Roy Kent named it in a profile piece he did for Esquire and Roy Kent had turned out to be a right fucking prick but he wasn’t wrong about the album, which Jamie had listened to the same day he read the interview. Or maybe it was just because the message was a compliment and a direct question that Jamie could answer, and he yearned for that sort of simplicity these days.

Summary
“Jamie?” Roy says, and now he sounds almost worried. Jamie’s lost in the tones of his voice, too distracted to come to his senses, to hang up the phone and wish for death over the humiliation that would inevitably follow this.
“Mmgh,” he manages, weak and rut-dumb. His tongue feels too big for his mouth. He says something that might have once been Roy’s name, but it comes out mangled, drawn out until it’s almost all vowels, thick and syrupy.
Over the line, he can hear Roy inhale sharply, like he’s only just caught on to what’s happening.
