Summary
Boarding schools were not given great reputations. They were the pit of Hell your parents threatened to send you if you didn’t behave well enough or the homes of snotty rich children. At least that’s how the media portrays them
You had to wear uniforms, eat dinner in a big dining hall with everyone else, and you had to sign out if you ever wanted to leave school property. Which can feel super restricting to some.
For others it can be rather comforting. Freedom from your parents, a sense of pride from being accepted to such a place, not having to worry about keeping up with the latest fashion trends.
These were some of the reasons Lory, while not exactly thrilled to be going to a different high school than anticipated, wasn't any more worried than the average freshman. At least about the education structure.
