The startle has him nearly dropping the card– Fit remembers this number.
He remembers crimson blood spilling down his client’s cheek. Remembers that his eyes were bright and focused as if he didn’t even feel the pain.
It could’ve been the shock, but he seemed as clear-headed as he had been before the shots popped off into the gala, his brows knitting as he shoved the card into Fit’s hands–
“If you need anything– anything– you call me.” He’d tried to hand it back, but the man had been insistent, “If I lost Richas tonight, I don’t know… I don’t know what I would’ve done.” He’d croaked, “Please, take it.”

Summary

Sometimes, the pressures of the island, of the dread Fit walked before he landed here- the stress of balancing bad memories and misaligned missions with the people you have come to love- the crushing what the fuck do I do of being a single father- the eggs went missing and then Purgatory happened and then- and then-
Sometimes, it all gets a bit too much.
The endless procession of hardships on this island take their toll. Fit turns to the only people- the only person- the only pair he can think of, the only ones he trusts enough, for help.
What started off as a method of coping for Fit has rapidly transformed into an emotional rollercoaster of a relationship with Pac and Mike. The trust was already there- but what threatens to tear them apart in a tornado of mixed feelings instead blossoms into a level of conviction no one expected.

“I see,” the widow hummed. Pac’s interest piqued as a gloved hand was extended outward. There was a single, gold band around the widow’s finger. It was woefully plain in comparison to the elegant jewels adorning his neck. “Then, it is a pleasure to make your acquaintance, stranger. I am Fit.”
“Fit,” Pac repeated, savoring the taste of it on his tongue. He took the offered hand, and gently lifted it. A soft gasp escaped the widow as a kiss was pressed to his knuckles. The metal of the ring burned Pac’s cheek where they brushed together. “I am Detective Pac. My sincere condolences.”

Summary
Single dad FitMC is doing his goddamn best, okay?
Even good dads need some help, and while Fit is doing well enough, it isn't enough to give the life he's dreamed of to his beautiful baby boy made in Heaven by God himself. He needs to get Ramon into the same school district as his friends before school starts, which means he needs to finish the loft so they can move in. A task that proves harder than expected when Fit adds up the costs.
In order to make a little extra money, Fit's best friend, Phil, suggests he lets one of Forever's old housemates stay with him at a reduced rate. Fit has an extra bedroom, and Pac could use a place as soon as possible, so everyone gets something out of being roommates!
