Dean started working at a local auto repair shop in Lebanon, Kansas about a year ago. His coworkers don't know much about him. Except that he has a wife. Or maybe he doesn't. But he has a kid. Who is either a toddler or a high schooler. Who is either named Jack or Sammy. He also might have a best friend named Cas, but that also might be his wife.
Truth is nobody knows what to make of Dean.

"What if I don't want to look for a new girlfriend, dude?"
"Like you want to focus on the band instead?"
Bill shakes his head, hands still fidgeting in his lap.
"No, dude, like I think I found somebody for me."
"You got a secret girlfriend?" Ted moves backwards on the couch, intent on creating some distance between them. He's definitely a bit hurt that Bill would hide something as important as a new girlfriend from him, but he tries not to show it too much.
"No way, dude. I think I want a secret boyfriend, though."

“Bill, I’ve been partaking in the most serious process of thinking lately,” Ted confessed, his face sour as if he just finished devouring a whole basket of lemons. Bill gently took Ted’s hands into his. Ted was in total appreciation of that gesture. Small and yet meaningful. Very encouraging. Bill knew exactly how to provide the most resplendent support.
“What is it dude?” He looked somewhat concerned, what Ted guessed, was only fair after such a beginning of conversation. At least now they could match in their state of worry. Bill and Ted, always together.

Summary
He just keeps noticing things about Bill, and it’s like once he starts he can’t stop. If he notices that Bill is short enough that Ted could kiss him on the forehead without bending his head up, that leads him to thinking about lifting Bill up to kiss him on the lips.
He knows that best friends usually don’t daydream about kissing each other on the lips, so he’s starting to think that he likes Bill as more than a best friend.
The thought itself doesn’t scare him, since loving Bill comes as easily as breathing to Ted. What scares him is other people finding out.
