Summary
He feels what he assumes is a single claw against his jugular, slowly trailing towards his Adam's apple. When he reaches it, Shouto swallows by reflex, and the voice right behind him asks,
“Why didn’t you let him shoot us?"
“B- because you didn’t attack me. And the other werewolf… She looked like she was in pain”.
There’s a hum, and Shouto thinks he hears an inhale - feels a breath not far from his ear. The claw slowly retracts, and Shouto turns around, facing more darkness. He glances around the closest shelf, but then the voice comes from a different direction entirely, much further away. It almost echoes from the distance, and it makes Shouto panic a little, thinking he might be leaving.
“What about your training, then? And the hunter’s path?”
Shouto runs towards the voice, back towards the table where he’d been reading. He rounds the final corner just in time to see a lightly scarred hand pull the switch of the lamp, casting darkness over the area again.
Shouto can just about make out the silhouette.
“I’ve always had… doubts”.
---In which hunter Shouto runs into Dabi one night during his patrol, and nothing's ever the same again...

“I’m not staying here. Not if he’s here.” Katsuki jerked his chin toward Eijiro.
Izuku didn’t look surprised at all. If anything, he seemed to have anticipated Katsuki’s reaction. He leaned in slowly, until his breath brushed over Katsuki's lips.
“I think you’re misunderstanding,” Izuku began, standing tall in front of him, straightening his shoulders until his height clearly overshadowed Katsukis, pinning him in place with nothing but his sheer presence. “This wasn’t a polite suggestion. And this sure as hell isn’t going to play out like things did at your parents’ place. As I said; I’m done watching and hoping you’ll accept my help when I offer it. I could’ve lived with it if both of you were doing fine, but this—”
He looked at Eijiro with sadness, then back at Katsuki with a judgmental glare that made Katsuki’s face burn with a mix of shame and anger.
“—this is anything but fine.”—--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Or: Izuku and Shoto are tired of just standing by and decide to take matters into their own hands. Little did they realize that this decision would fundamentally change their lives...
