After the fall of the Absolute, Astarion decided to grace his companions with his presence at the six-month-late afterparty. To his surprise, Gale made it to the party as well.

With his full weight against Gale, he drew a dagger from his belt and slowly inched it towards his neck. While Gale no longer had visible pupils, Astarion could tell his eyes were trained upon the blade, his brows knitting with a telltale worry as the blade rested against his warm throat. He had not frightened the god per se, but caused enough trepidation in Gale to question if he would come out of this unscathed."Reminds me of the day we met," Gale croaked. The cracks in his confidence began to show with a bob of his throat as he swallowed. He opened his mouth as if to talk, yet stopped as cold steel pressed firm against his throat.
