“I… what?”
Jay hears himself asking, and the words feel foreign and rough, catching in his throat as he attempts to string them together. His body already registering, what his mind hasn’t yet.
... ... ...
A sting goes wrong.
Eleven days later... and Jay is still dealing with the aftermath.
