Chi Cheng still feels the unease that had encased him ever since Gangzi had spoken of all the possibilities of others.
Others looking at Wu Suowei and noticing the handsome lines of his face, the warmth of his eyes, the soft cadence of his voice — others coveting what is his.

He looked straight at those eyes, waiting till they were looking at him, Suo Wei’s hands curled around the collar of his shirt.
“And you’re mine.” An absolute truth. The kind that cannot be refuted or argued against.
Th sun rose in the east.
Day followed night.
Chi Cheng was Suo Wei’s, and Suo Wei was Chi Cheng’s.

A curl of warmth passed through him as he took his seat in between Chengyu and Suowei. He leaned over to press another kiss to his boyfriend’s cheek. “Everything smells delicious, as always.”Chengyu flashed him his proud smile, though his eyes reflected how pleased he was by the comment.
The four settled, digging into the food. The apartment hummed with the kind of quiet companionship that Xiaoshuai had never thought he would have. Filled with teasing and quiet laughter, with Suowei and Chengyu going at it as usual, with Chi Cheng’s eye rolls and deadpan one-liners that made Xiaoshuai snort, especially when accompanied by Suowei’s affronted looks. Filled with an undercurrent of love and trust that had been earned, every crumb and second a victory over all the pain they had been through together and apart.
