IN VAGUE MEMORY OF: JAKE LOCKLEY (? – 2025)
Born for reasons unknown, Jake Lockley (may have) passed away a few moments ago at Putnam Psychiatric Hospital, located in the Duat. Despite the obnoxious Brooklyn accent and violent inclinations, he was a born-and-raised Chicago native with many friends across the world. It is not believed that he had a job, and he may or may not have had hobbies. Much about Jake Lockley had been a mystery, and now will always remain so.
His levaya will be held right now, led by his two surviving alters, Marc and Steven. To immortalize him in their hearts, Marc and Steven vow to continue peeling away the layers of secrecy to the guardian they never knew they had.
Or: the trials and tribulations regarding the unification of a triad.

“You saw the body?” Jason asks. It’s a stupid question—of course Tim saw it. Tim was the one who found it, who rolled it into the carpet in the first place. But there’s a second question wrapped up in his strangled tone, which is: Are you okay after seeing the body?
Tim just purses his lips, almost indignant. “This isn’t the first time I’ve seen a corpse before, Jason.”
Right, Jason thinks, but it’s the first time the corpse has been your own fucking dad.

“I… I could be Robin,” Tim suggested softly, almost not daring to say it, even when nobody alive could hear. “No one could ever replace you, but without Robin, I’m afraid of what Batman could become.”
He knew he would never measure up to Jason Todd or Dick Grayson. But anything was better than nothing, right? He was anything. Even if he was just a candle compared to the bonfires that were Dick and Jason, he could be that light to Batman's darkness. The light Batman so deeply needed.
He owed it to Robin, to Batman, to Gotham—to try.
There was that thumping again, and Tim reminded himself once more that it was probably just the rain, or something reasonable, and not the waking dead.
Too much AMC and George Romero, Tim. Pull yourself together.
