"I don't—" Regulus hesitated, then changed his tactic. "Do you ever feel like your emotions aren't... right?"
Sirius blinked. He turned around fully on his chair, his body now facing Regulus.
"No," he said, blunt.
Of course he didn't. This was Sirius, who could charm without trying, sway a crowd like it was effortless. Sirius never thought about the way he was perceived, much less whether his emotions considered the full picture or not.

Summary
Sonic did end up telling his friends about the Shatterverse, but it’s clear to Tails that he's still hiding something. In an effort to find answers and with Shadow’s reluctant help, he uses the Paradox Prism to create a device capable of jumping dimensions. When he sends it out, however, what was meant to be a one-way trip returns to him with a cryptic greeting from a stranger who seems interested in researching the dimensions with him.
Now, Tails finds himself trying to solve two mysteries - why Sonic is acting so weird around him, and who this unorthodox, anonymous cross-dimensional pen pal really is.
It's a lot harder than it sounds.

“Wait…” Tails says, wary, as Sonic stretches his hands above his hand and then revs up, like really revs up, like really really revs up, all while keeping his eyes fixed on the pinball flipper where it sits a good few yards above them. “Wait, what does that mean? What do you mean?”
Sonic takes a moment from his apparent calculation to shoot him a thumbs up over his shoulder, which again is not nearly as comforting as he seems to think it is, and then he turns back to it, and a moment later- well, and then a moment later, he launches himself directly at that pinball flipper.
