The limp, sleeping body had been delivered to his workstation at the end of his shift the day before and it usually took a full day to get them dosed with the proper drugs and then hooked up to the machine that would be their home until they no longer met production quotas.
Dr. Rochelle whistled idly as he pulled on the sterile lab coat and the blue latex gloves and finally pulled the thin, white blanket off of the boy’s form.

In a world where Peter Parker is just a little bit older during the events of Civil War he never joins up with Iron Man to help in the fight. In a series of events unknown to the public Spider-Man is missing. The last anyone has seen of him was during a fight in Times Square where he was carried off, in bad shape, by the Fantastic Four. The government says he's dead and that should be the end of the story.
Five years later, Harley Keener, Gwen Stacy, Eddie Brock, and Abby Keener are on their third season of their award winning podcast- Unmasked, where they pick a hero that has disappeared due to the passed Sokovia Accords and deep dive into their lives. For their third season, they chose New York’s favorite - Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man. Unintentionally, Harley finds himself being tugged into a story he never expected.
Meanwhile, Peter Parker is being reminded that, sometimes, the vigilante life will come knocking - no matter how hard he tries to be done with it. After all, "with great power, comes great responsibility."

Summary
The thing about Bucky these days is that, while he might be a semi-mythical assassin, he's also vulnerable—the kind of vulnerable that makes total strangers want to drape a blanket over his shoulders and take him to safety. The problem is, of course, that Bucky is already safe.
The first time it happens, Bucky has no idea how to react. He and Steve are walking down the street, when a slight woman takes in Bucky’s terrified eyes, the dark circles so bad they almost look like bruises, and Steve’s protective hand resting on his lower back, guiding him down the busy sidewalk (but it must look possessive, to someone looking for a sign), and comes to the wrong conclusion.
