Summary
Three years old: he dreams of lush plains that border a body of water bigger than any lake he’s seen. Rolling hills of grass decorated with unknown flowers dance in dry wind. A hill of hot rock higher than he’s ever seen before, with hot liquid fire spewing out of it like pus from an infected wound. Creatures of all sizes and shapes speak like humans do. A crimson steed overlooks a plain soaked in red, and he feels his heart leap when he sees them.
He’s tired. He stares into the sky, adults guiding him away from the edge while telling him that he’s too young to try and fly yet.

Today was a lovely day for a leisurely spring walk, in the opinion of a diamond eyed knight. The sun was almost overhead. The soft breeze from his window kissed his skin in reverence as if he were a rosary. A few birds chattered with jubilancy. It was weather that most people would take even a little time out of their schedule to enjoy; much more enticing than staying cooped up inside with this month’s paperwork.
So he found it quite odd to see a ragged body hiding away in the bushes just as he began his midday stroll.
