Enid grabbed onto the handle, pushing her anxious thoughts away. As she pushed open the door, she could see Wednesday sitting upright in her black and white hospital gown. The small girl's eyes were looking down at her sheets, and her face was puffy like she had just been crying. Enid stepped into the room, yet Wednesday didn’t seem to notice.
“Wednesday?” Enid called out. The smaller girl's eyes darted toward her, but not at her. That's when she realized... Wednesday... couldn’t see her?

Summary

Wednesday took a long, slow breath. "I am here to ask for your assistance."
Yoko blinked. "My assistance?" Her imagination jumped to half a dozen possible scenarios in which Wednesday Addams might be asking her for help. "I'm not helping you kill someone. And I'm not helping you hide a body."
